custom furniture studio
sonobe designs and builds one-of-a-kind furniture — sketched, measured, and made for the exact room it's going into. solid wood, real joinery, nothing off a shelf.
sheet 01 — studio
every piece starts as a conversation, not a product listing. we measure the actual space, talk through how you'll really use the piece, and design around the real constraints — a stair turn, a low ceiling, a left-handed reader, a dog that needs to fit underneath.
then it's built by hand, one piece at a time: solid wood, real joinery, finishes mixed to match. no veneer over particleboard, no two pieces exactly alike.
sheet 02 — founders
sonobe is built by three founding partners who design, draw, and make every piece together — by hand.
sheet 03 — process
a real sequence, three stages, usually 6–10 weeks depending on complexity.
we visit the space — or do it over a call — take real measurements, and talk through how the piece actually needs to function day to day.
sketches and a 3d model come first. then physical material samples — wood species, metal finish, upholstery — land in your hands before anything is cut.
built by hand in the workshop, then delivered and installed in the room it was designed for.
sheet 04 — selected work
a sample of pieces in development. photography of finished work goes here as each project is completed and installed.
sheet 05 — start a project
send a few details and we'll follow up to set up a measure & talk session.
